A read-only MCP that connects Friday to the TP-Link Omada controller API for network analysis, optimization recommendations, and monitoring.
Problem
Paul runs a full Omada stack (10G dual-PSU gateway, managed switches, APs) but has no automated way to analyze network health or get optimization recommendations. The Omada controller UI shows data but doesn't interpret it.
Core Concept
- Read-only MCP using the Omada Open API (REST, OAuth 2.0 client credentials mode)
- Friday can query network state but cannot make changes
- Paul makes changes in Omada based on Friday's recommendations
- API endpoint: Omada Cloud northbound API or local controller
What Friday Could Analyze
WiFi Optimization:
- Client signal strength and SNR across APs
- Channel utilization and interference
- Roaming event patterns
- Band steering effectiveness
- Recommend channel changes, power adjustments
Client Analysis:
- Device inventory: who's on the network, which AP, which VLAN
- Bandwidth usage patterns per client
- Devices on wrong VLAN or suboptimal AP
